TEARS

I found a tear on the ground
which had fallen from your eye
Then I saw, looking closer,
your tears were all around

I'd seen you smile and heard you laugh -
the sound of sunlight, so I thought;
and flowers in the spring.

So why, where you've passed by did
tears fall
from your eyes?
What made the sunlight turn to night;
what made the flowers die?
