I had thought to see
a room. a door, a face
in its mocking relfection,
but the pretence was ended,
and instead of these
bogus things half seen
was the emptiness of the
space where the child in a grave
once sat, and though I
tried 'til I bled to see
my world in the mirror,
there's nothing now
for the mirror to reflect.
